About the trainer
GRAZIELLA BILDESHEIM
Graziella Bildesheim is an expert in the development of audiovisual projects, in the management and coordination of international co-productions and in training.
From 1994 to 2004 she collaborated as expert assessor with the MEDIA, MEDIA II and MEDIA PLUS Programmes in the evaluation of applications submitted for Development funding. As a story editor and development consultant Graziella has collaborated with RAI Cinema in Italy from 2000 to 2002, with SGRIN / CYMRU and Arts Council of Wales in 2004 / 2005 and ARISTA, a primary UK development and training company, from 2002 to 2004.
As free-lance consultant she has assisted numerous Italian and European production companies in the development and production of feature films. Since 1991, she has been advising on financing possibilities, searching for European partners and coordinating international co-productions. In this capacity, she has worked with a wide network of producers throughout Europe.
She has taught modules on the development of international projects within ARISTA’s Story Editor Workshops and since 2004 she holds and manages the only course for script readers in Italy. She also lectures on script analysis and principles of dramaturgy at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia / National Film School of Rome.
In 2003 she established Fabulafilm, a private company, with the aim of enhancing the circulation of valid audiovisual projects and encouraging international co-operation among film professionals. Fabulafilm is active on counselling production companies on creative and financial development and international co-productions, training and production of documentaries.
In 2005 Fabulafilm produced, in collaboration with RAI, Regione Lazio, Istituto Luce, Comune di Sanremo and Regione Liguria, the documentary film “The Isle of Calvino” on the Italian writer Italo Calvino. The film was broadcast on Rai Tre, Rai Sat and Rai International in September 2005.
Fabulafilm currently has three documentary projects in different stages of development: “Celio Azzurro” is focused on a frontier kindergarten in the heart of Rome; “Good, Clean and Fair” is a projects on the devastating effects of globalisation on the culture and economics of the food chain and the remedies and solutions for a better world; “La Cipolla (the onion)” deals with the problems women have to face when going back to work – or worse, looking for a new job – after a maternity leave.
Again in 2005, the company submitted a training project named MAIA WORKSHOPS - focused on the development of audiovisual works and targeted to young European producers – to the MEDIA Training Programme. MAIA was developed in cooperation with Scuola Nazionale di Cinema/Centro Sperimentale, Regione Lazio and Zone Attive in Italy. It was granted the support of MEDIA and was successfully implemented in 2006. The programme is now running for the second year in different European countries.
In 2006 Graziella was responsible for the co-production network of the European Cinema and Audiovisual Days in Turin.
She is also Coordinator of NEW CINEMA NETWORK, a section of the ROME FILM FESTIVAL devoted to the development of film projects from directors around the world.
She is an active member of the European Film Academy and, with MAIA WORKSHOPS, a founding member of ATC / Audiovisual Trainers Coalition, the first European association of independent training providers in the audiovisual field. |
